The right tool for the job

When I ordered the parts for my deck railing project, I didn't get the crimper because a friend loaned me his crimper from his prior project, It was a smaller crimper than this, probably a 10-ton type commonly sold on Amazon. I had some reservations about it, as it was a little oily and when I pumped it on a terminator, it never got too hard to push. But it looked like it crimped the terminator (slightly) and I proceeded to crimp everything. Unfortunately, when I started tightening the cables, a couple popped out of their terminators, I stopped and went to the SC&R website and ordered one of these. Night and day difference!
This crimper worked great, gaining resistance in only a couple pumps, and gave me confidence that the cables would hold. And indeed they did, when I tightened the cables, everything is taut and firm. Should have bought this one in the first place. Don't make the same mistake I made!
