BALAU MAHOGANY is a naturally strong and beautiful exotic wood native to Asia and the Pacific. Our Responsible Supplier selects only the finest specimens of Balau and engineers them into stronger, more consistent boards. This involves bonding wood fiber together to produce a larger and stronger end result that’s easier to work with, easier to maintain, and longer-lasting than solid sawn wood.

Additionally, the engineering process allows each and every wood fiber to be used to its full potential. This reduces waste and requires less fibers per board than solid wood, making the most of this precious natural resource and promoting its sustainability.

Our Balau posts are an exclusive line carried by only a few suppliers in the world that utilizes a unique laminate design combining multiple smaller boards into a single, robust beam. Not only is the end product ensured to be of the highest aesthetic and structural quality every time, but it is also easier to work with and nearly impossible to crack, split, or check.

The WESTERN RED CEDAR posts we offer are Premium Knotty Western Red Cedar Quattro™Posts. These posts are engineered products developed by SynergyPacific, of which we have recently become an authorized distributor.

Quattro™Timber is manufactured in Canada specifically with decking and building in mind. They design their wood to be even more builder-friendly that it already naturally is and maintain certification from construction evaluation agencies ICC Evaluation Services Inc. and CCMC.

All Quattro™Timber is meticulously treated and handled. Each beam is laminated, kiln dried, and bound together with structural adhesives all in a tightly monitored setting, resulting in wood that has greater visual appeal, durability, and consistency. The engineering process allows for uniform beams that meet exacting specifications. The hollow design makes the beams lighter and easy to run wire through, while still boasting incredible strength and resistance to checking, splitting, and other forms of wear.
