Stainless Steel Cleaning & Maintenance Procedures
One of the major perks of stainless steel is that it's relatively low maintenance in comparison to other materials. For the most part, the occasional wipe-down with a wet cloth is all that is needed, thanks to stainless steel's "passive layer" coating, which prevents deeper wear like corrosion and staining. This passive layer is not permanent, however, which is why stainless steel should be repassivated post-installation and as needed.
For this reason, we offer products that properly reinforce stainless steel's resilience: Citrisurf® and Rust Rescue. All systems should be repassivated using Citrisurf and protected using Rust Rescue. This is especially important for systems within 10 miles of a marine environment.
